Worked great, I passed up on bigger sanders, because the 1x30 ed fine. Have to order good belts though, not hardware store stuff.--Just like you have to with bigger sanders.     I get 3/32 or 1/8” x 1.5” and the grinder does just fine. I trace out my knife blank and then cut off excess material with the angle grinder, then move on to the belt grinder. I use the norton blaze 36 grit to shape the “blank” and make the plunge line and first 5 or so passes, and it eats the material well.

For some reason my extra fine strap was making my knives less sharp than the fine, but this s great after a few passes on the fine belt.
